These pictures were taken at the sand castle contest that’s held here every year in New Zealand. They use to have it in White Rock. However, it eventually became so big that it was impossible to continue to hold it any there longer; so a few years ago they moved further north to a city called Abbotsford. People come from all over the world to compete. It’s really something to see!

Well, what with me being the unluckiest chick around, it would figure that this is what I would find at the end of the rainbow.

Talk about ruining one of my childhood fantasies, that’s not exactly the pot I was looking for.

We got a bunch of overdue housework done, then spent the rest of the weekend relaxing. Very nice.

Nintendo's new controllers

From CNN

Nintendo’s revolution-ary plans
Game maker unveils the key to its next generation video-game machine.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) – Ending months of speculation, Nintendo has begun to unveil the ‘revolutionary’ aspects of its next generation video-game system - code-named Revolution.

Rather than playing the next “Mario” or “Zelda” game with a two-handed controller, you will use a device that more closely resembles a television remote control. The wireless unit, using internal sensors, will translate your wrist and hand movements into onscreen actions.

“This is an extremely exciting innovation — one that will thrill current players and entice new ones,” said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in a statement.

“For the fist time, a controller will allow you movement in every direction,” Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America, explained to me. “Obviously left and right, but you can also move in and out, pitch and yaw.”

Well, I have played with some game interactives before, and when it’s wireless like this speed can be an issue. We’ll have to wait and see.

Don’t know if it’s worth it, I like Netflix. But for all I know it may be as valuable as a free month of AOHell. But like I said, I really like Netflix. We use the heck outta them, and definitely get our money’s worth.

I’m still stuffy, but not quite as bad as yesterday. Maybe it’s on it’s way out. I just hate taking NyQuil to sleep, and waking up with a sore throat and dry mouth. But it’s better than lying awake all night sniffling.

Now if I could just find something to keep me from sneezing all day. I’ve tried a dozen different decongestants and nothings working. Well, maybe they’re working some, but I want ALL the sneezes gone!
