I loved him as Arthur, and he was fabulous in Sin City. Clive Owen is another one I could stare at all day!

Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can’t help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

We wish you a merry … something

By Pam DeFiglio

Jean Dieterich gets ticked off when cashiers wish her “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” while she shops near her Mount Prospect home.

“Everybody that comes to America can keep their traditions, but don’t take away our Christmas,” she says.

But Bernie Newman, who is Jewish, enjoys it when store clerks greet him with “Happy Holidays” or put up displays of Jewish-themed books amid the Christmas merchandise.

Newman, of Naperville, wants Christians to fully enjoy the holiday, but he appreciates an awareness that some people celebrate other holidays.

Well, either sounds fine to me. And why is saying Happy Holidays considered “PC”? And why is everyone blaming us damn liberals for the saying? Why should I be considered less traditional for saying Happy Holidays? I think the real “PC” version of it would be “Happy Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Ramadan, or Muslim Eid”. Besides, last time I checked, there were a few of us Christians celebrating New Year’s, too. So that makes two holidays in one week. Two as in plural, so why not say Happy Holidays? I think the only folks here who should get pissed off are the atheist non-calendar observing types, but that’s just my opinion.
