If you’ve got a few minutes, take a look at the Daily Mail’s article on How children lost the right to roam in 4 generations. There’s amazing detail there about how our great-grandparents walked miles away from home unaccompanied, our grandparents less so, our parents less than them, etc. Then it addresses the psychological effects of this “nature retardation”. Great read.
This one definitely gets a Happy Cow seal of approval.
