The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League have announced the signing of Derek Landmesser for the upcoming 2008-09 season. Landmesser becomes the first signing under new RiverKings’ coach Kevin Kaminski.
This past season with the RiverKings, the native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada played in all 64 regular season games and also in all three playoff contests, totaling 50 points on eight goals and 42 assists during the regular season. In the playoffs, the RiverKings’ team captain chipped in a pair of assists as the Kings were eliminated in the first round by Texas in three games.

Landmesser began his CHL career with the Memphis RiverKings in the 2000-01 season, scoring seven goals and 41 assists for 48 points, then adding two goals and seven points in the playoffs. Dumont Signs With RiverKings

(Southaven, MS) — A key figure in the Mississippi RiverKings’ run to the Central Hockey League playoffs last season has signed on for another campaign. Center Louis Dumont has agreed to be a part of the RiverKings as he begins his 15th professional season and third year in the Mid-South.
A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward played in all 64 regular season games for the RiverKings last season. Dumont was fourth on the RiverKings’ stat sheet in points with 51 and his 35 assists ranked him third on the team in that category. Dumont added three assists in the Kings playoff series with Texas last year.

Dumont was good when it counted for the RiverKings, as six of his 16 goals last year came as game-winners, putting him third on the roster in that category. Louis also contributed in each of the last four crucial games of the regular season, as he scored two goals and added two assists in the push for the RiverKings’ spot in the CHL post-season. All four games were RiverKings’ victories.
