Got this from a good friend, and a great hockey mom, Rebecca Sisco:
As most of you know, my nephew, Brayden Rydell, was diagnosed this summer, for the THIRD time, with leukemia. He has ALL, which is the most common and most cureable, but he also has AML, which has a zero percent chance of survival without a bone marrow transplant. He has already had 2 sets of 5 days of chemo and he is preparing for a NINE day stint of chemo to prepare him for the transplant. Since he has already had two transplants in the past, radiation is not an option. His body would just not tolerate any more radiation.A couple friends and I are putting on a BBQ dinner in Brayden’s honor to help pay for expenses. My sister has had to quit her job, Brayden has had to quit his job, and my brother-in-law is working out of town. He is a St. Jude patient, so medical bills are not an issue, but unfortunately…life is. Bills still have to be paid and food still has to be bought.Along with the BBQ dinner ($8.00 a plate), there will be a silent auction and a raffle drawing for a $100 VISA giftcard. The dinner will be held at Horn Lake High School on September 5th, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.If you are interested in going to the dinner or buying some raffle tickets ($1.00 each and you DO NOT have to be present to win) please contact me. You can call me at 901-647-3282 or email me.
