Does it make Dee Snyder a sellout?

Members Of Twisted Sister Now Willing To Take It

NEW YORK—In a stunning reversal of their long-stated reluctance to take it, members of heavy-metal band Twisted Sister announced Monday that, after 24 years of fervent refusal, they are now willing to take it. “I acknowledge that we promised not to take it anymore, but things change. The world is a different place today, and with that in mind, we would like to go on record as saying that, starting right now, we are going to take it,” read a statement released by the band’s lead singer, Dee Snyder. “To clarify, we would still prefer not to take it, but as of now, taking it is an option that we would be open to. That is all.” Bassist Mark “the Animal” Mendoza also stated that, in regards to what he wants to do with his life, he no longer solely wants to rock, but would instead prefer doing other things, such as raising a family and working as a claims adjuster in Rye, NY

New Discovery Christian Church is kindly sponsoring a blood drive for my son, Austin, at Hernando Middle School on October 1st at 6pm. We’re organizing this drive to help Austin (a hemophiliac), and others like him by donating blood and raising awareness. Donating blood not only helps Austin by providing blood for his transfusions, but also helps provide factor (plasma derived) for the infusions Austin can’t live without. Please comment here, or email me at cschmied@gmail.com if you have any questions. You can also visit the church’s site at http://newdiscoverychurch.com/special.html to get more info.

Thanks,
Chris

We’re playing Clarksdale, in Clarksdale, so I’ve got a little bit of a road trip on my hands.

I don’t think I’ll shoot tonight.  I just want to enjoy the game.

I think lying to Letterman and instead appearing on Katie Couric might have been a little mistake on McCain’s part. Just a little one.

Check out this photo of Shawn Johnson, American gymnast extraordinaire over at http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com.

How did they miss the hand growing up out of the corn?  Is this a Stephen King moment waiting to happen or the handiwork of an absentminded photographer?  And how did no one notice it in editing to photoshop it out?  Or, wait for it, maybe they did it on purpose.  Maybe every so often they photoshop stuff like this in to get attention and more press.  If that’s the case, good on ya!  It works.  Not that I don’t like gymnastics, but I surely wouldn’t have looked at this twice much less blogged about it if it hadn’t been for the mystery hand in the bottom of the shot.

Check out PFNC, a company dedicated to building affordable housing for folks working in Juarez, Mexico living in sub-standard housing.  They came up with the coolest, greeniest idea ever - they take used tossed aside shipping containers and turn them into houses for folks currently living in shacks.  You’ve got to check out their site at http://www.pfnc.net to really appreciate the genius.

happy cowThe fine folks at PFNC defintitely get a huge happy cow seal of approval for this one!

One of my pet projects is finally up and running! I’ve been wanting an online resource for help with von Willebrand questions, and I’ve been willing to make one myself since the universe is so lacking. So my local CSL Behring rep, Mark, hooked me up with a mom in NY, Jessica. Will and I have the web know-how, she has been a vWD mom and patient and knows it all inside and out. Together, we all made You, Me & vWD. It’s up and running and I really hope we can help people!
