I am a crazy mom, wife, friend and hockey nut. During the day I'm a mild mannered computer geek. But at night, by the light of the full moon, I am a hyperactive shutterbug. I love shooting the beautiful scapes and people of Miss’ippi.
Somehow I was able to convince my bosses (fabulous men, all) that I need an iPhone. It’s true, I do need it. I need to be able to view real web pages where my ads or flash, etc might appear, one the fly. The mobile version doesn’t cut it. So there is a true need there. But I for sure didn’t think they’d go for it.
They did and it’ll be here tomorrow! So I get to hand in this crummy crapberry and get a fun, er, I mean business essential, phone tomorrow!
Warning: there are a few spoilers lurking in this post, so if you don’t want me ruining any of the Hulk for you, don’t read any further.
This weekend we managed to get out to see The Incredible Hulk. I don’t care what anyone says, this is an amazing movie. Yes, it beat the pants off the last Hulk movie, which wasn’t hard to do. But this movie was so much better, it’s giving Iron Man a run for it’s money. And yes, Tony Stark does make an appearance in this, setting the stage for some future Iron Man/Hulk action (I can’t wait). Norton pulled off playing Banner and though I’m showing my age, I love the fact that this is so much more like the TV show. It pulls the best parts from the comic and combines it with the way Banner is always on the run. Both those elements were missing from the last film. And, for the testosterone driven, this movie is non-stop action. It managed to have plenty of plot for those of us that care, and tons of action. That other Hulk movie was all story, no action and this one was the exact opposite!
With the release of two such great superhero/comic book movies this year, I’m thinking that this might be the year that makes me want to see movies in the theater again. And I am definitely going to have to revisit my Top 10 List!
NEW YORK (CNN) — Dell Inc. deceived customers in a massive “bait and switch” scheme to increase sales of its computer and electronic products, a New York state judge ruled Tuesday.
State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo sued Dell in 2007 on behalf of hundreds of customers who claimed that the electronics company lured them into buying products with promises of attractive deals and promotions.
In reality, the lawsuit alleged, most customers were denied or misled into believing that they had been approved for low interest or financing rates.
The lawsuit also accused Dell of depriving customers of technical support that they were entitled to, in some instances, by pressuring them into performing repairs on their own or subjecting them to long wait times on the phone.
In a 26-page decision, Supreme Court Justice Joseph C. Teresi found in favor of the consumers.
“Dell has engaged in repeated misleading, deceptive and unlawful business conduct, including false and deceptive advertising of financing promotions and the terms of warranties, fraudulent, misleading and deceptive practices in credit financing and failure to provide warranty service and rebates,” Teresi said in his decision.
The court will hold further proceedings to determine how much restitution Dell will have to pay its customers.
This guy’s web site so rocks!  Even if you’re not half the geek I am (poor you) you gotta love it!  Definitely check out his bio.  It made me LOL.  Lots. Â
Ok, I forgot to add yesterday that I’m hoping, big time, that The Incredible Hulk winds up on my Top 10 list of comic book hero movies. I think Edward Norton is an amazing actor and I’m optimistic that this flick can help us all forget that other Hulk movie.
So with the hubby reminding me what a comic book hero fan/geek I am, and us discussing what the best paper superhero turned movies have been, I figured I’d post my top 10. Not to disagree completely with other lists like this one from David Fear (The Rocketeer, really?) and this one from Zach Lawrence (Daredevil, just no), mine is completely biased, and of course, the only ‘right’ list. Well, at least keep in mind that even with my serious crush on Hugh Jackman I managed to try not to go too X-Men crazy. Oh, and I’m starting with number one, cause suspense is overrated.
Spiderman -with this I think Sam Raimi raised the bar so high, few movies will be able to come close.
Iron Man - this one had it all, great action, a believable cast and awesome special effects from the ILM team, my favorite movie of the year so far.
The Punisher - he’s just a badass. And while John Travolta was over the top, it was still good, even if it did piss off a lot of original ‘Punisher’ fans.
Batman - I thought I would hate it, since I was imagining Adam West meets Edward Scissorhands, but it was great! Very dark, and surreal.
X-Men - Oh shut up, you knew it would make the list. And Singer did a helluva job, even with Halle Barry as Storm.
Batman Begins - more darkness, this time from Christopher Nolan, but also an interesting look at what shaped the man in the suit.
Hellboy - what a cool movie! Next time I hope they spend less time on all the relationship babble and more time fighting demons.
Blade 2 - Snipes pulls it off and the vamps he fights with are really cool!
Spiderman 2 - Please, don’t let her sing anymore, ever.
X2 (X-Men 2) - cause I finally got to see Nightcrawler!
Almost ran: Spawn. If Martin Sheen hadn’t been so damned goofy, I would find this a lot more watchable. And if I had been including graphic novels, instead of strictly comic books, I would have included Darkman and Sin City.
