Does this make me want to get an iPhone?

Jul 01

According to Scott Williams (follow him on Twitter BTW, he tweets neat stuff), this video will make you want to stand in line forever to buy an iPhone. Well, maybe not the line part, since he mentions eBay and Craigslist. And he is waffling over the AT&T coverage issues. Which is exactly why I’m sticking to my Android powered HTC Eris, thank you very much. Since we moved to Middle-of-Nowhere Mississippi, we have had phones with AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. We had no coverage at home with AT&T, and great coverage with Sprint, but lousy customer service. So we’ve been with Verizon now for years. Yes, I know we probably pay more for our wireless plans, but it’s so worth it to know that they work. And since we made the move to Verizon, we’ve gotten rid of our home phone, so they’re actually saving us money. And call my picky, but I like knowing my phone will work everywhere I have to go and not drop calls. Yes, the iPhone is sexy as hell, but coverage is a deal breaker, and AT&T can’t cut the mustard. And I’m the biggest Apple fanboy I know! So for me to be this anti-iPhone is saying something. And yes, I do own an iPad, but just the wireless version, not the 3G.
So watch this video about a short film shot and edited entirely on the new iPhone. It doesn’t make me want to get an iPhone, but it does make me hope that these enterprising young film makers get some serious kudos for their hard work and innovation.

PS. Yes, I know that Verizon is set to start selling the iPhone in 2011. I’ve read all the latest gossip. But it’s been said so many times, I’m not going to believe it until I see it in the stores.
