He tried to go back to school today for the first time in more than a week and he got 3 bleeds so he’s back home. I am losing it. He’s frustrated as hell and none of us know what to do.
But there is a plan. We’re going to take him to Vanderbilt for another operation, hopefully his last one. This will hopefully get his current issues well under control. His bleeding disorder shouldn’t affect his life, not like this. If we can just get the current bleeding sites fixed, he’ll be fine.
Definitely keep all the prayers and wishes coming. And while you’re thinking of us, don’t forget St Jude. Without them, we’d be lost. His nurse case manager and the education coordinators are on the ball! All the doctors, nurses, social workers and staff at St Jude are amazing!

I just couldn’t help myself this weekend. I recruited Small Fry and a friend to help me make a graveyard cake. Keep in mind that this was taken with my iPhone, but it was a yummy graveyard cake, complete with chocolate pudding/crushed Oreos for the mud and dirt and whip cream ghosts!
This is me, busier than a one-armed paperhanger. I’m a little busier than usual these days. So if the blog suffers, deal with it. There. Told you.

New Discovery Christian Church is kindly sponsoring a blood drive for my son, Austin, at Hernando Middle School on October 1st at 6pm. We’re organizing this drive to help Austin (a hemophiliac), and others like him by donating blood and raising awareness. Donating blood not only helps Austin by providing blood for his transfusions, but also helps provide factor (plasma derived) for the infusions Austin can’t live without. Please comment here, or email me at
